Crankset power meters add anywhere from 50-250 grams to the weight of the crankset, based on the version.
Prices range from around $400-500 to over $2,000. Sigeyi, Magene, XCADEY and power2max power meter cranksets offer a great value with models in the $400-700 range. Right around the $1,000 mark you have options from 4iiii, Shimano, Stages and ROTOR – all very popular, highly-regarded cranksets.
Crank arm-based power meters are popular because they're more reasonably priced, and are easy to install. Most crank arm power meters measure power from the non-drive crank arm and then double it to give power numbers that are inline with spider- or pedal-based systems.
If your SRAM crankset uses the 3-bolt interface, the power2max would be a great option. Like the power meters above, it's a spider-based power meter that measures power from both legs. power2max makes some of the most reliable power meters we sell and we use them on a number of our own bikes.
All of these units use dual ANT+ and Bluetooth SMART. Therefore, you can use these power meters with your favorite bike computer or indoor training app. Some of these crankset power meters use replaceable coin cell batteries while others use rechargeable batteries.
There are not a lot of power meters available for Campy cranks, so this Stages represents a solid option. It's easy to install and works well. It's a bit pricey for a left side arm, however the Campy power meter cranksets we have from companies like SRM and power2max, are much more expensive than this.
