Separators. Anode or positive terminal (or plate): The positive plates are also called as anode. The material used for it is lead peroxide (PbO 2).
Components: Each battery consists of lead dioxide (PbO₂) for the positive plate, sponge lead (Pb) for the negative plate, and sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) as the electrolyte. The concentration of sulfuric acid influences the battery's performance. Discharge process: During discharge, lead dioxide and sponge lead react with sulfuric acid.
